«Cáritas Parroquial: obra de fe con ganas de seguir trabajando»
El accionar de la Pastoral Social Cáritas Quevedo de la Diócesis de Babahoyo, se concentra en algunas actividades que ejecuta cada responsable encargado de fortalecer la labor social de la iglesia en las diversas parroquias.
Para ello la pastoral cuenta con algunas tareas de llevar adelante las diversas acciones en la comunidad, tal como nos comenta la hermana Lorna Vanegas, que apoya el trabajo de la pastoral. Pertenece a la congregación Hijas de San José y está involucrada en acompañar, animar los valores de la acogida a las personas que acuden al Centro Médico San José. Esta casa de salud cuenta con varias especialidades, las consultas son a bajos costos y el servicio que se da a la población que acude en busca de atención médica, se lo hace con calidad y hospitalidad, dice la religiosa.
Una de las características que tiene el centro médico es la realización de campañas especiales cada mes, entre las cruzadas de salud están: de Hígado Graso, Cardiología, Papanicolaou, Osteoporosis, Riñón y Mamografías.
Otro de los campos de trabajo de la pastoral, son las Cáritas Parroquiales dice la hermana Lorna, y es un compromiso grande impulsar que “nazcan y crezcan nuevas Cáritas” pues la presencia de ellas es la acción social organizada de la comunidad, se acompaña y se brinda formación. Y para que caminen las Cáritas no puede faltar la ayuda y colaboración incondicional de las persona voluntarios que donan su tiempo y presencia.
Conversamos con Gladys Arias, voluntaria en la Parroquia siete de octubre de Quevedo, manifiesta que uno de los objetivos que se planteó Cáritas en su parroquia hace cuatro años es ayudar a los padres de familia de escasos recursos a comprar la lista de útiles para sus hijos, esta labor lo hacemos con mucha alegría y entusiasmo.
A la pregunta de ¿cómo hacen para recaudar fondos? comenta que las nueve personas que son voluntarias en Cáritas hacen varias actividades como: rifas, bingos y comida para vender y con los fondos recaudados se tiene para la lista de útiles, además se recibe ayuda económica de personas de buen corazón. Estar en Cáritas es “una felicidad grande, una obra de fe y con ganas de seguir trabajando.
Otra de las actividades que tiene la pastoral es el taller de confecciones, que también está al servicio de la ayuda social, el taller de costura nació también con el propósito de ofrecer fuentes de trabajo a la comunidad, señala Dulce Zambrano, Coordinadora de la Pastoral Social Cáritas Quevedo.
